Flame Poem by Dr Avinash Dal

Flame

Rating: 2.5

O Flame!
Extinguish thyself
Long gone are your days of glory
Of mirth and attempted history...
Did you not burn on the stake
Of a wick, for whose sake?
Did you not channel the droplets
Of your mind, just to [burn]
Created a light to avoid others’ stumble
And show them the way through life’s rubble
Your glory was high, at times
Now only a flicker
It’s time to say goodbye
Other flames are now on duty
You did your bit when it was your day
Now you must rest, o grey!
