Flame Of The Ancients Poem by Caleb Hall

Flame Of The Ancients

Rating: 5.0

A tear in each eye
The youth shiver embraced.
Clouds rumble outside
The roof leaks overhead
Here comes Lucifer now
To deliver the fire
He promises it will keep them warm-
And it does. But he's a liar
He failed to mention the burns it will cause
Only advertising protection from all kinds of mean claws
So they kindled a flame and fed it their best
The youth grew strong and the world they oppressed
They forgot their intentions
And those cold, sleepless nights
They scrambled for power,
Slaughtered in endless fights
Lucifer smiled at the destruction he caused
For he won - he defeated the gods
The world is smart now:
A warm place to be.
Yet so damn gnosiophobic
It's hard to believe.
