Flashback Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Flashback

Rating: 5.0

Stored in the darkness of a closet
Are reminders of lasting impressions
Years of passing time have accrued…
Among these outdated possessions

A framed portrait beckons focus
A bride adorned with veil and crown
A likeness that renews past emotions
Revealing volumes that are unbound

Blackest of black shoulder length hair
Dark brown eyes… still hopefully gazing
Satin tracing a youthful womanly form…
Her radiance of optimism is truly amazing

A transfixed countenance conveys…
An aura that invokes thoughts of celebration
Echoes of laughter and music can be heard
As guests offer heartfelt congratulations

In rapid succession… vivid images flash
Rekindled memories flicker and take shape
A sudden surge of displaced time emerges
As a breathless stare witnesses the escape

A brief smile brings an end to the vision…
Aging hands return the image to yesterday
There is still much to do and plans to be made
It is the beginning of another sun filled day.

Till Death Do us part....is an expression of two hearts promised to love till the end, even if the other has gone ahead the other still savor the sweet memories of the past! A 10.
