Common-frights from stormy nights
passions ring by candle light
all is darkness with a flair
of white lightning-flashes through the air
comes the autumn's raining deep
puddles never make us weep
chills that clamber up the stairs
clicking clocks that witness there
midnight comes—we do not dare
leave our sides and go elsewhere
for thunder roars through the night
drums hit our ears with a painful bite.
when morning comes—we'll be alright
‘tis the storm that gives us fright
it's just another-other night.
