Flesh Eating Days.. Poem by Miral El Nahry

Flesh Eating Days..

She's given it full thought
Her tears, the only things she's fought
Here comes another year of what she fears
'Happy New Year'.. that's what she hears
Every year is just the same
It's that avid old game
She keeps falling in its trap
As it forms a lonely gap.. this dull, insincere gap
Call her lunatic.. Call her weird
She's sick of living everything over once more
All these fake people.. They slit her throat
Lies.. Lies.. Lies.. They keep haunting her mind
Was she insane? or does her mind retain?
Yes, she may have lost her mind.. but to what?
To all these fakers..
Yes, her mind may possess these thoughts.. but why?
She lets them go but they're too sly.. Too sly to demolish..
She didnt have to think too much, it implied
From this world, she wishes to vanish
Stop wondering why all she does is loathe..
It's not real.. It's not real
You havent gotten to know her enough..
Let go of your beliefs, they're nothing
Would you stop telling her what to think..
Your looks are blinding..
Her thoughts are aching
But only one's breathtaking..
That one takes hold, of all her senses
That one makes her aches defenseless..
That one's gone.. but temporarily
The pain commences.. She's lost her defenses..
It's like she's falling into her worse nightmare..
She cant reach her escape..
She's only surrounded by the useless, innocent air
The emptiness of the moonscape's light.. layed upon her
She'd been bleeding her heart out..
Waiting for that saver..
But Waiting's done no good..
Her position was blur, but her thoughts were clear
Where was she? The world, she couldnt hear..
Too many voices.. Too Many Screams.. Too Many Warnings Of what she couldnt bear..
She's shaking, weeping, bleeding..
Inside her, as she's inclined, demons, she was leading
She has to relive everything again.. fake smiles, stupid lies..
What has happened to her? What has happened to her mind?
What has happened to the world? Hasnt anyone felt, she's left behind?
Her hearts' weeping lullaby, was what she kept hearing..
It sang the same verse.. over and over
'End me.. Oh please.. save me.. 'it's pleading
Herself, She desperately needs to rejoice..
& There she lays with no choice..
