Flesh upon flesh
Wrapped in a blanket of stillness
This is where I lose myself
for a brief moment in time

Hand in hand
Given with complete and total willingness
This is where the dust settles
The pooling of tides

Breath in, breath out
Pressed against you
I am drifting
Your heart beats a tune that puts me to sleep
It shapes my dreams

It's the sound of everything I know
in this one moment
Where I am held
Here... close to your heart
And for a split second
I forget who I am

There is no job,
no car
no house
no war
no fear
no crime or pain

There is only the touch of flesh upon flesh
hand in hand
breath in, breath out
There is only the sound of your heart beat

My body
No longer my own
My heart
No longer mine alone

I fade away in your arms
Forgetting who I am
Forgetting how I got here

For a split second in time
There is nothing else
No one else

For a moment
Nothing matters
