Flights Of Fantasy Poem by Anam Rizvi

Flights Of Fantasy

Rating: 5.0

I want to run away,
Far from this hurt and pain,
Far from ridicules and hurtful words,
Far far from the stares and this unbridled world.

I want to fly away on a magic carpet,
Into the sunset where no sneers loom
No questions. No faces spelling doom.

Ah! a calm, quiet forest serene.
The flowers will bloom.
The birds will sing.
And maybe i will sing with them too.

I want to fly away on a flashing Nimbus '06.
I want to visit the fairies in their palaces, the gnomes in their cottages.
The pixies with their ears perked up will eat cookies by the fireside with me.

Lets go meet Big Ears and Noddy.
Lets cycle our way into their world.
We will meet Jasmine, Aladdin and Cinderella,
We will meet the Beast and pretty Belle.

No Nimbus comes.
No magic carpet swishing in the air.
No Harry Potter with a wand appears.
What i have is my hand running in a flurry of words across this page.
The refuge of my soul.
And Bliss.
