Flowers (1964) : Andy Warhol Poem by DM W

Flowers (1964) : Andy Warhol

Hibicus flowers,
rendered ultra- bright, via
silk- screening techniques
of Drella. When we gaze at
them, we are spellbound.
Then suddenly we see them
with less innocent,
and more knowing eyes, as things
soon begin to change.
Soft, flashing dreams, evoked by
flowers, are hardened.
Their artificial beauty
becomes quite tragic,
as if haunted by decay.
Fleeting is this life
and all its enchanting things.
