Flowers Of Freedom Poem by Edward Schriner

Flowers Of Freedom

Flowers in the nighttime sky
Blooming purple and red and green
Possibly the most beautiful sight
My blessed eyes have ever seen
Blossoming large in the sky
With such explosive bursts
They never last that long in life
Yet they are carefully rehearsed.

Such beautiful flowers in the night
These eyes have ever seen
As they bloom open so suddenly
In their purples and reds and greens
When I picture them up high above
In our natural ceiling way up high
My spirit soars quite so freely
Joining the blossoms in the sky.

Oh, joyous is the nocturnal flora
So beautiful in the sky above
Reminding us of our independence
Filling our hearts with patriotic love
What are these mysterious flowers
And where do they all come from?
They hail from the hearts of all patriots
They are the flowers of freedom.
