Fly Away Butterfly Poem by Cece Winters

Fly Away Butterfly

Butterflies cannot fly
if you clip off their wings.
Taking a wing for your satisfaction.
You can't use that for yourself.
So why cause unnecessary misery?
Are you envious that she have more colours
in her wings to shine to the world?
That you wish you had.
So instead, you attempt to tear her wings apart
So that no one is happy.
Unlucky for you this beautiful butterfly
managed to escape its cocoon just in-time.
You may have damaged the wings slightly,
But, you'll never see her again.
All that's left, is a sprinkle, of her wings.
