Fool Current Version Poem by Jonathan ROBIN

Fool Current Version

Fool, fretting,
dares not,
rushes to comply, can't quantify
or qualify, eats humble pie.

Fearing failure, fool falters, fears to fly,
save from self's shadow, fictitious foes who pry.
Heed anxious sigh, serve stuttered, tense reply:
'However hard I try, the evil eye,
or so it seems, must, surreptitious, spy
upon my steps so insecure, so shy.'

Acts that defy facts, dreams deny,
[s]he falls from high for fool must die,
forgot
forgetting.

Fools, fretting,
dare not,
eat humble pie.

Frightened of failure they fear to fly,
save from themselves, and those who pry.
They trembling ply their trades and sigh.

However hard they try, the evil eye,
or so it seems to them, does secret spy
upon their steps so insecure, so shy.

And then they die,
forgot
forgetting.

Fool, fretting,
dares not,
rushes to comply, won't qualify, eats humble pie.

Fearing failure, fool falters, fears to fly,
save from self's shadow, fictitious foes who pry.
Heed anxious sigh and stuttered, tense reply:
'However hard I try, the evil eye,
or so it seems, must, surreptitious, spy
upon my steps so insecure, so shy.'

Acts which deny facts, dreams defy, [s]he falls from high
as fool must die,
forgot
forgetting.
