Tears straining upon my face
leaving not a trace,
but the stains of salt
and these feelings of fault

asking why is nothing right?
why can I not see any light?
is this my endless plight?
to give up without a fight?

if only I could see,
if only I could be
the things that pass me by
as the clouds cover the sky

all the rain
and all the pain
will it wash it away?
where is my sunny day?

why cant I understand
the footprints in the sand
where will they then carry me
and will they help me to see?

lost blessings, lost love
I wish on a star above
let me be free
of all my misery

show me my road
lighten my load
dark is my world
this world of light

is love just to my right?
please help me to understand
the hidden meaning
