Footsteps On Snow Poem by Antonija Norbutaite

Footsteps On Snow

Look at me, what do you see?
Just a shadow that went down the street.
Just some ashes that fell on the ground
From the soul that's been burned by the candles.

Look in the eyes, what do you see?
Empty window, that's been broken a while now.
She doesn't see anything any more
Little girl on her knees in the driveway.

Look at me, do you see?
Little mouse running fast in the corner.
It will take your look away
From the footsteps on snow disappearing.

Don't look at me, you don't see
And I don't really want you to see
Lets just leave broken glass on the floor
Let the footsteps on snow disappear.
