For As Long As You Do Poem by Francis Duggan

For As Long As You Do

For as long as you do the very best you can
For to live as a good woman or as a good man
And any wrong to another you never have done
You are a good person as good as anyone.

Though some others may not see you as a success
Why worry them you do not need to impress
Since they cannot differentiate between success and greed
Their nod of approval you surely don't need.

For as long as you know how to give and receive
And in the right of a fair go for all you believe
And those in need of help you do try to help out
Your worth as a good person should not be in doubt.

For as long as you feel that all others are equal to you
And to your higher self you try to remain true
And the pathway to self betterment you do pursue
For being a good person credit you are due.
