(for Dónall) Substitution Poem by Janice Windle

(for Dónall) Substitution

Rating: 5.0

It takes:
a pair of pink woolly socks;
a pair of fleecy lilac pyjamas
(with long sleeves) :
a winter-weight duvet;
and a cellular blanket
(fifty percent polyester)
to replace
your warm hand
lying on my thigh.

But what can substitute
for your hot morning kisses?

It is said that nature abhors the vacuum and free spaces, though... the substitution is often far from analogy. I love your witty artificial makeshift (made of 50% polyester!) . Wonderful piece!
