For Mama Poem by Daniel Abwao

For Mama

In my world you are the one,
She who made me who I am,
Though not always was it fun,
But for me you got things done,
Protecting me always from harm,
Ever by my side like none,
Physically or mostly in mind,
Entwined by love into one.
Upon sorrows you are never away,
Consoling me in the best ways,
Encouragement brightening up my day,
Keeping all the worries for me at bay,
May God forever favour you I pray.
For you deserve not less than appreciation,
That wonderful and worthy recognition,
Not just a day of lavish attention,
And a year of disregard and abandon.
For you mum I’ll always be loyal,
With you I’ll forever stand tall,
In support I’ll never let you fall,
As I hope that we’ll be one in soul,
At the ultimate summon of the Almighty,
In the Celtic winds of eternity.
