For Medicinal Purpose Poem by Ima Ryma

For Medicinal Purpose

The wife and I go camping and
I am not to bring any booze.
Two bags I keep quite close at hand.
Vodka jugs in one, my wife views,
'I told you not to bring that stuff.'
'Why is some booze now in my sight? '
The wife asks in a tone quite tough.
'For use in case of a snake bite, '
'As an anesthetic, ' I say.
This does seem to appease her some,
But subject not going away,
As the wife's next question does come,

'And what's in the other bag, dear? '
'Snakes, in case there aren't any here.'
