For The Fool Hardy Like Myself Poem by David Thomas

For The Fool Hardy Like Myself

your love is like the cold side of the pillow;
it's always there
always refreshing and nourishing when i need it,
despite its almost cruel nature
to just up and leave as i get comfortable,
your love is what i desire most.
it is like the cold side of the pillow,
your love i mean,
because it is always going to be there
and it is always going to be cold
it will always be so fleeting a feeling,
and it will always leave me in the middle of the night,
flip flopping my pillow
so as to feel your sweet kiss once again.
