For The Love Of A Child Poem by Alma F. Martin

For The Love Of A Child

Enjoy your poems, so do I
for they are written with a well-noted eye.

My child did not go unscathed
but not with a belt I did bathe

but with soft words & gentle airs I use
to form his tears, in kindness I choose.

Discipline, yes, I say is good
but not always used as it should.

I myself have indeed felt
a love one-time so great, dealt by the belt.
