For The Most Of My Life Poem by Francis Duggan

For The Most Of My Life

For the most of my life I have been a rhyme buff
And I've penned one might say a whole heap of stuff
Some tell me I ought to give rhyming away
But my answer to them is always not today,
We all have addictions mine is penning rhyme
I've been at it now for a very long time
Though I'm not seen as one worthy of literary note
And I've never referred to myself as a poet
A migrant far south of my old Homeland Shore
I just love to pen stuff that and nothing more
I began penning rhyme when I was in my life's prime
Three decades and five years ago that is going back in time
And if I said I'd quit rhyming that would be a lie
I will be penning stuff hopefully till I die.
