For The Night What Better Be Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

For The Night What Better Be

For the night what better be
Than hearing from the sea?
The tales, the yarns, tragedies
Rise silver from the mists o dark
And
Hour after hour strikes
Sliding slow to Dawn
And greeting of New Morn
There literature
There be verse, drama, song
And even old philosophy
And all that on which civilization turns?
And then new civilization to new civilization?
For the night what better be
Then hearing form the sea?
