For Whom Did The Bells Toll? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

For Whom Did The Bells Toll?

For whom did the Bells Toll?

How familiar it sounds
'Convert, leave, or die'

Today for parts of Iraq
Then More, and for all

Ancestors left Sepahan
Lost, found; in the wild

Zoroastrians crossed Chinvat
Up over that Bridge; it's Fara
Rubbing shoulder with time
Fara Chinvat became Fashark

Evolution has taken its toll
On Chinvat turned Fesharak.

How familiar it sounds
'Convert, leave, or die'
