I though when you left
That I'd just move on
That I wouldn't think about us
Or your smiling face at dawn

The feelings I have for you are raw
A need that burns inside
Why did I let it start?
Hell, I was only along for the ride

As we both had agreed
'It is what it is'
The problem still herein lies
You have a girlfriend, I have kids

So I still go with the flow
Only 'til the stream runs dry
At least I knew it from the get-go
You're the one for whom I'll never cry
