Forbidden Love Poem by Melissa Barber

Forbidden Love

Rating: 5.0

Two hearts beating
Both with passion and grace
Yearning to be together
Tensions heating
Day after day
Wanting to unite in song
They have waited for so long
But there’s something wrong

They can’t see each other
For one heart is underage
Might of well be in a cage
Forbidden to see the other heart
Locked up and thrown away the key
”Only two years left, ” the heart says with such dismay
Seeming so far away
Fears of the other heart moving on without it
It so dreads the thought

Refusing to be contained
It tries to break free of its chains
Someway they’ll find a way
To be together again
