Illusion Poem by Melissa Barber

Illusion

Rating: 5.0

I opened up my soul
And I let you in
But you tore it up in a minute
You don’t see
I would have given you everything
I guess it wasn’t good enough
You act really tough
Deep down you’re a sweet guy at heart

You play my emotions like a drum
But you have no rhythm
We march to a separate beat

There once was heat
The fire burned out now
It’s cold as snow
And it was all just an illusion
