Foresight Poem by A Puppet

Foresight

Rating: 5.0

Watching another drink to find respite from the ever growing hole inside.
I can relate.
I see the desire to reach for a moment of numb peace, yet I cannot logically resort to such a means of escape.
Just yet at least.
I can empathise, the feeling of need, the warmth that a bottle of whisky brings.
To not have to worry for just a little while...
About that hole, ever growing, inside.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I encourage you read this poem out loud with pauses at each punctuation point to reflect on the words written.Empathy is a beautiful thing. I started writing this after watching a show where someone who is depressed started to drink. Would love to have feedback, I don't write often, so all is welcomed, the good and the bad :)

A wonderful poem so spontaneous and straightforward. Touching and well expressed.

Just want to express my gratitude. As I said I don't write often but I enjoy it when I need a release and this was the result. I seem to soak up emotions a bit too easily and focusing it into writing helps deal with that, so I'm glad I've incited something from you : )

Your suggestion in the poet's notes is excellent. I think ALL poetry is better when read aloud. (All GOOD poetry, that is.)
