Forever Broken Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Forever Broken

Silently I think of her.
Forever trapped am I inside myself.
I cannot forget.
Dreams, remind me of days long ago.
Without forgiving mercy, I forever chase my ghost.
Running to her and never finding the girl I loved.
She holds our promise of forever.
The flowers died and with time dried into a powder.
Now dust; Is blown away by the breeze of yesterday.
Time heals all wounds with faded memories that shadow the present.
Born into this world; My purpose was to love only one.
Desire unfulfilled left me feeling nothing.
Yet another beating heart calls for the comforts I have to offer.
I can give only what I have left inside.
Like the walking dead; So am I.
