Forever Live & Die Poem by Dale Mullock

Forever Live & Die

Rating: 5.0

In Gloaming's growing grey shadow,
The dying Sun turns the landscape sallow,
Radiant solar souls slowly sink below the horizon,
Succumbing to Shadow's sickly reason,
Aside from wind blown leaves and rocking chair,
Last golden glints dance upon porch otherwise bare,
Inside a static scene upon a TV screen,
a small boxed blizzard and phosphene,
Casting cremated ashen grey span,
Of light upon a sleeping woman,
Darkness rouses a Dreamstealer refined,
Imagination ripped from sleeping mind,
Still raw, writhing and malevolent,
Pure malice and evil intent is rent,
And placed in the waking world,
Reality bent, curved and curled,
To create a fearsome unearthly error,
That spreads a disease called Terror,
A living nightmare walking freely,
Blood is sprayed so freckly,
As the woman is ripped in two,
Gore having free reign during curfew,
Ready meals for denizen of the deep,
An ossuary made from sepulchral creep,
That paints the landscape in crimson
until the stroke of dawn brings my oblivion,
Ending my revel in contented dishevel,
The red skinned and stained Devil,
For I am he and he is I,
Born to forever live and die,
Burning in flames sparked and spun,
From the light of the morning sun.
