Forgiveness Poem by Terri Brown

Forgiveness

Rating: 5.0

Forgiveness, I cut it into my skin and paint it black,
The cut stings and brings tears to my eyes
The pain feels good,
So I keep going

I love you,
but I cannot keep you
I decide your fate and I am sorry
May your pure soul rest

I think about you,
You never leave my mind
Guilt and remorse torture me everyday
I deserve the punishment I recieve

My life has changed forever
I will never be the same
I have become something I hate
I blame myself

I see your face in strangers
I am ashamed
I never gave you the chance,
To show yourself to the world

You will never dance
You will never sing
You will never become
You will never be

For selfish reasons you are gone
I will never feel your presence again
I wish I was stronger
Then you would be here

I am Sorry
Sorry
Sorry
Please forgive me....

Terri, this poem definitely conveys a deep sense of pain and remorse. Well written, but I too believe that we have to dust ourselves out and start living again...Take care

That is so sad. I hope you do not dwell in your pain forever. You must move on and be strong. Do not blame yourself. You do not control others. Rhonda
