Forgiveness Poem by Under A Microscope

Forgiveness

You lied and you used and abused my trust,
though if it were anyone else I wouldn't have minded as much.
but the thought that you could betray me the way that you did,
makes me sick and disgusted even though I love you so.
Now as I look at you, I don't see who you were,
all I see is a liar who won't confess their indiscretions,
won't admit that they were wrong, will blame anyone
and anything just to prove themselves worthy.
Worthy of a second chance, worthy of the trust renewed,
worthy to have a place in my heart again and to be as we
were before.
You have yet to say you're sorry and have yet to accept
your mistakes, but to forgive is not confessing on your part,
it's for me to let go of all this that's within.
