Forgiveness Knows

Forgiveness knows the sweet embrace
Of a loving Father
Who takes the prodigal in His arms
And with His love does smother
And puts back joy into the heart
Of one who could not sing
As two go walking hand in hand
Tis what forgiveness brings

Hallelujah what a Saviour
Where sin has met its match
In the offering of love and forgiveness
It's what our God does best
And the Holy Spirit's indwelling power
That gives us a sound mind
We do not have a spirit of fear
For our Spirit is one of a kind

Forgiveness knows...O yes it does
It's a stamp of God's approval
When repentance takes effect
Sin's penalty takes removal
And all of our past receives its doom
To be held against us no more
Praise God for this so great Salvation
Who could ask for anything more!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
