Forgotten To Forget Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Forgotten To Forget

Of all the things that I forgot in life
I have forgotten to forget;
I have forgotten to love you in the manner
One forgets to wake and brush teeth;
One forgets to lean on the railings of the balcony
And catch the wind on its nape;

Forgetting not to forget has been an illness
For me since my father forget to drop me
In the garbage dump at the outskirt of the city,
And run away with another woman- who
Happens to be other than my mother;

I have forgotten to forget
How you inflicted injury to my heart:
When in the moonless night I tried
To grope you and you melted into darkness.
