Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [12- 14] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [12- 14]

12.Chozhan Chenganan, the king of the Kaveri water feeding land,
slaughtered the enemies in the war-field. The excited elephants
got tired when arrows hit them endlessly and shed shed down
flame-coloured blood. They likened the look of red-soiled hills
while it was raining.

13.The soldiers of the mighty warrior Chozhan Chenganan fought wars
with long swords and chopped of the tusks of the elephants.
That atrocious scene was alike the thunder-hit snakes
on the rocks of mountains wiggled and rolled down.

14. The king Chenganan of the fertile land with full water-ways
killed the king of the Kongu country in the battlefield.
The tusks of the elephants were chopped of. The hurt tusks
Spat out blood like the bags spilling out the coral stones.
