11. Be not wrathful towards those doing
to you. Don't forget them who did good to you.
Never be splenetic. Rid of evil acts
which hinder your progress.

12. The snakes harms with its poisonous tooth.
The wild deer gores with its horn. The maids resent
and give troubles by facial signs. A sage
inflicts pain himself by his renunciation.

13. A drum betters a lute that makes no music.
The chaste maids are greater than th' mean. Better to be
in hunger than to eat tasteless food. Better
to enter fire than to leave a loving one.
