which hinder your progress.
12. The snakes harms with its poisonous tooth.
The wild deer gores with its horn. The maids resent
and give troubles by facial signs. A sage
inflicts pain himself by his renunciation.
13. A drum betters a lute that makes no music.
The chaste maids are greater than th' mean. Better to be
in hunger than to eat tasteless food. Better
to enter fire than to leave a loving one.
