Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament [from 'naanmanikadigai' In Tamil 7- 9] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament [from 'naanmanikadigai' In Tamil 7- 9]

7. Shining pearls appear on the rocks. Sweet words
of the lover gives abundant joy.
Ways of virtue appear from the soft grace.
And wealth produces virtue and pleasure.

8. Good discipline likens to wealth. Leading
a good family equals ascetic life.
Backbiting likens to stab one. Visiting
an unwanted house brings disgrace to one.

9. One desires to steal the goods of others
loses sleep. Sleepless are those who fall in love.
One forgoes sleep who seeks wealth with hard efforts.
Those who guard the wealth don't get a wink of sleep.
