Foxes In The Garden Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Foxes In The Garden

(For John and Tina Selley)

Bushy tailed trusting vixen
Returning every year
Giving birth, raising young.

Cubs boisterous
Full of fun playing on the lawn
Guarded by proud vixen
As human friends look on
Watching from kitchen window.

Knowing humans
With den in back garden
Cubs are safe from foxhounds
And when summer ends
Vixen goes away, young safely raised.
