Fragile Intensity Poem by Alfie Button

Fragile Intensity

The sound of fragile intensity
Peaceful yet endearing,
Triumphant yet not reaching full passion,
The absolute unsurety of all that is unknown,
The bittersweet feeling of immortal distress,
The spiritual unawareness of unrecognised matter.
Hostilities litter the air like atoms,
Losing and gaining electrons at their will,
Nothing last forever,
That’s something everyone knows.
Why are we in this world?
Nor religion or science can explain
The meaning of life is whispered behind closed doors,
To protect those too delicate to hear it,
With fear of temptation or aggravation,
They know they must be patient,
As their time will arise one day.
People set their sights high,
Yet they fail to prepare for a fall.
The deafening silence sweeps across the plain,
The feeling of your life in the balance,
Stuck between two forces,
With all gravity being extracted from you,
They say you don’t know what you got until it’s gone,
Well that’s one of the truest phrases i've heard in my life.
It’s funny how you can build up trust for your whole life,
Yet one day you can ruin it all,
Falsely accused, wrongly accused,
They both mean the same to me,
Now we come to the end of the book,
Final chapter, last page, last sentence.
And guess what happens next?
I’ll let you write the last line,
To dictate your future choices,
Pick wisely, my friend,
For I have finished my book,
And reread it a million times.
