Fragments Of Love Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Fragments Of Love

Small fragments of your love
I've locked within my heart.
They're memories from the days
when joy you did impart.

I've stored them deep inside
to help me ease the pain,
from storms that cloud my mind
and bring the caustic rain.

As bitter tears are cried,
I set them free to heal.
These morsels form a patch;
the crack they try to seal.

Yet, still within, the hurt
is raging like a war.
The break rejects repair
and rips into my core.

With reinforcements lost
my fractured soul grows weak.
It's tired and losing hope,
no fix in sight to seek.

For now my spirit dwells
within this shattered case,
awaiting love that's true
who'll heal with his embrace.
