Fragrance Of Yester Years Poem by Abhinav Baruah

Fragrance Of Yester Years

Rating: 5.0

When the sound of silence engulf my loneliness
The last symphony melts down in emptiness
The stars forget to shine bright
The full moon looks indifferent in cold eye sight
And the glory of the smell of last rose petal lost in the autumn night

Somewhere down the memory lane
The Southern cool breeze brings the fragrance of yester years
Around me

The blinked eyes desperately look for the shining blue sky
Searching for the laughter of naughty kids
The swimming princes in the long trench of past glory
And the music of vagabond heart at the hero’s welcome ceremony

You and me friends
We are still together and so close though
Poles apart

When the sound of seconds tickles the heart beat of the lost ant
Amidst the dust of forgotten soul
The memory breaks the threads of garlands
Of hopes and dreams
Of sorrows and grief
Of promises and words
The epistle of nostalgia brews up
And strikes the chords of the rays of burning sun shine
When the Southern cool breeze brings the fragrance of yester years
