Freedom (Ghazal) Poem by Adnan Shafi

I am dismembered into pieces, but my endurance is still strong, for freedom
I hope I'll keep retaliating only not to mislay my long, for freedom.

My heart is now a broken mirror due to the smell of abhorrence and ferocity,
None will grok my pain of singing a song, for freedom

Youths on the roads with alarm of being pelleted, seized,
as yet they raze their innocence lifelong, for freedom

A people coadunate calmly in love, trust, truth, respect,
Here in unresolved land, they wait so long, for freedom

Oceans of griefs now are still impending in their lives,
But it is their mindful inclination not to go wrong, for freedom.
