Today is Friday, the thirteen.
This is the end of my week, so I rest at home.
The sun shines beautifully under blue sky dome.
Scattered are some low hanging silver white clouds.
Autumn has been seven weeks old.
All leaves had fallen and branches are completely bare.
Grounds are moist and breezes gently flow.
I ride on my lawn mower to cut green grasses and mulch brown leaves.
I cover my head with a knit wool hat.
I wear a winter jacket and my hands a pair of soft gloves.
My lawn mower runs slowly with monotonous boring sounds.
I sip my iced milk coffee as I ride back and forth.
Grasses are green in my front and back yards.
Green grasses and bare branches remind me of early spring.

Translation of Vietnamese poem Thứ Sáu Mười Ba, NHIEN NGUYEN MD
THỨ SÁU MƯỜI BA
Hôm nay, thứ sáu mười ba
Cuối tuần, tôi nghỉ ở nhà thảnh thơi
Nắng tươi, trời đẹp xanh lơ
Vài chùm mây trắng lửng lơ ngang trời
Vào thu đã bẩy tuần rồi
Lá cây rụng hết, bây giờ cành trơ.
Đất khô, trời chẳng gió to
Cỏ xanh máy cắt, lá khô máy nghiền.
Tôi thì đầu đội mũ len
Thân mang áo ấm, tay đeo găng mềm
Máy đi chầm chậm đều đều
Ngược xuôi máy chạy, cà phê uống dần,
Cỏ xanh sân trước, sân sau
Cỏ xanh, cành trống, như đầu mùa xuân
