Fridge Note Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Fridge Note

Felt your presence
In this empty old house
Was ever so quiet
Quiet as a mouse

Could smell your fragrance
As I climbed the stairs
Wanted you here
In this bed we share

Miss the feel
Of your skin on mine
If only we could stop
Enjoy...our time

Whispered your name
Walking through the rooms
So still, so quiet
Felt the gloom

Heart weighed heavy
Heard it beat in my chest
Had to work
No time to rest

I'm going. Your coming
Works never done
Keeps us busy
Always on the run

I put a note
On our refrigerator door
Wrote, "Love you babe"
No time for more.
