Friends Poem by Pen Anthony

Friends

To those that stood by me
Those who held my hand
To those that held the ladder up
Those who took away the ladder
Just to make sure i couldn't go back
When i felt the top was tough

To those that took their time
Giving large portions of it to
The audience of my thoughts
Those that believed inthe potency
Of my musings

To those that we broke bread
Dissecting a topic over a bottle of malt
To those that time played us foul
To those that our paths crossed by chance

Those that we barely talk but keep in touch
Those that we argue furiously
But still calm down like the water
On the lower end of a waterfall

This is for you
A token of my appreciation
You've made my life better
Thank you for being my friends
