Friends Of Our Earth Mother Poem by Francis Duggan

I have never proclaimed myself to be a poet
But i eat and i sleep and i drink and i vote
For the Green Party why should i pretend
Since to the Earth that does feed us they are a true friend

But sadly the Green Party as ever not doing politically well today
And of people what does this of us have to say
For environmentally unfriendly jobs the Earth it is okay to abuse
Their ignorance in their thinking for their environmentally unfriendly behaviour not an excuse

Human greed on humanity is an environmental shame
Future generations will have us for to blame
For the poverty that they may have to endure
By abusing our Earth Mother for the young and unborn we are making their future quite insecure

When i vote for the Green Party to my thoughts i feel true
Since they are friends of our Earth Mother for to give them their due
As she is the one who does feed all
Life forms including humans from the great to the small.
