Frogmarch To Futility Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Frogmarch To Futility

Rating: 5.0

Destiny on horseback visited numerous destinations
And some could see him and some could not see beyond what they were doing
But though they strive to find their own different ways, over time they fall down together as if in a funnel
There's only one way out of here

Unwieldy stiff-backed involuntary soldiers
Been given orders that cannot be questioned
Marching both as the doomed and on behalf of the doomed
We all move that way armed with a knowledge that predates birth

Allow me to impart that which you know but won't acknowledge
Won't force out because it has a tendency to cruelly snap back with the name-calling of failure
In telling you this, I may leave you with a harsh freedom
That is much different than the sweet slavery you are used to

The triumph of the abyss and the competence of superlatives
Not one second lost due to fear
Nothing postponed because of the scaredycat within
No mortality gained through a fatal susceptibility to the inevitable
