From A Woderland To A Neverland; Poem by Jessica Lowe

From A Woderland To A Neverland;

My eyes, so tired of seeing the drama of life
I close them now and say goodbye to the strife.
I want to fall asleep, but never to wake
Cause when I open my eyes
I feel my heart break
In this place of peaceful slumber
I dream sweet dreams that make me wonder
Full of life and vibrant with colour
With tiny little houses,
Sitting beside one another.
Where the sunlight drenches the earth with his golden glow
And the grass so tall and lush, does it grow
Perfect flowers stand beautifully above me
Forming a rather comforting canopy
Where no one but me can enter it now
Hidden away never to be found
The world will go on without me
They won’t care
They’re all too caught up in drama out there
So I sit in my wonderland
Relieved and revived,
But I think of my friend
That I have left behind
So I imagine you here
And it seems to suffice
But then my eyes start to tear
Cause it doesn’t feel right
This isn’t my lover
Your all in my head
I reach for the covers
And I awake in my bed
My Wonderland fading away much too fast
Becoming my Neverland, a thing of the past.
