From Broad Suffering To Death's Disguise Poem by John Paul Butler

From Broad Suffering To Death's Disguise

It had been such
A long time in coming and
Yet it happened
So very quickly at the finish
But thankfully so
An end to broad suffering

Though in some respects
I'd already actually
Come to terms with it and
In a way grieved
It was still hard and a shock
With exquisite sorrow

Straight away
Life without her started
From ground zero
It began one confusing
Moment at a time
In the instant she went

Though in some respects
I'd actually already
Come to terms with it and
In a way grieved
It was still a shock and hard
With ecstatic pain

All of her things are here
But now she is not
Her face in the end was
That of a stranger
Somehow not really her
Death's disguise
