From Thought And Purpose Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

From Thought And Purpose

Speak and talk,
From thought and purpose.
Walk with determination.
Leave doubt behind.
Erase doubt from your mind.

Find impressions to make,
A wasted endeavor.
Say what you mean.
With respect not to question.

And if others with you do not agree,
Let it be known this with you is okay.
This should not stop...
You from knowing who are.
Or how long it took,
For that 'you' to discover.
To remain that way.
Pulled from under.
Smothering wants and wishes.
To be accepted.

Especially by the ones,
Still living their lives...
Seeking their pretensions to be approved.
And you,
With thought and purpose to have found.
Feeling mentally sound and grounded.
Need only to be you.
Done each day to better do.
