Frozen Poem by Jennifer Foisy

Frozen

I see my world in comic strips, in still frames
While in the car together I see us next to each other
and then I can literally see the car grow
Our seats are now miles apart
I can’t hear you
Can’t see you
Can’t feel you
You’re too far
We’re too far

I see still frames of me sinking in the ocean, arms and legs bent upwards hair flowing
Sinking
Waiting for you to grasp me
For us both to be drenched
For you to breathe life into me
But it doesn’t happen
I just keep sinking
