Fruits for common people

The basket is full of surprises
As it goes with promises
We bargained for our freedom
Followed policy of appeasement sans wisdom

No one talked about corruption
No one talked about internal and external relation
The defence of India was made to suffer
Cutbacks or kickbacks were openly offered

The top politicians and beurocrats worked for hand in glove
The black money was eating economy from above
Crores of rupees were taken home in broad daylight
Where was the public spirit to fight?

At least one man emerged on Indian horizon
He was simple man and resolved person
The Indian economy has taken steps ahead
The message remains well read

For freedom and liberty
One has to transform completely
Have we not suffered during slavery rule?
People are easily forgetting nation's call


Let us wait for new sun in sky
And optimistically try
The country may rise to its glorious past
We are really showing path as first

The political parties have combined to oppose
"Whether right or wrong, "they have no choice
Some of the media persons and influential people
Want to rob the fruits of common people who always struggle
